Greenwood Plantation (Alexandria, Alabama)
Greenwood, also known as the Green–Woodruff House (built 1842–1850), is a historic Antebellum architecture, Antebellum plantation house in Alexandria, Alabama, Alexandria, Alabama, U.S.. It was once part of the Greenwood Plantation, which had been worked by enslaved people. Some six generations of the Green–Woodruff family owned the house. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 9, 1989 for the architecture; and is listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage since April 23, 1987. Greenwood Plantation (Georgia)
Greenwood Plantation is a plantation in the Red Hills Region of southern Georgia, just west of Thomasville. Its Greek Revival main house was built in 1838 and expanded in 1899. With . The plantation includes 5,200 acres of forest used for quail hunting with 1,000 acres of old-growth longleaf pines, some up to 500 years old. It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The property then included 1400 acres, nine contributing buildings, and four other contributing structures. History The original Greek Revival mansion on the property was designed by British architect John Wind and built about 1838 for Thomas and Lavinia Jones. Greenwood is a historic plantation house located at Culpeper, Culpeper County, Virginia. It consists of a -story, three-bay, center block dating to the late-18th or early-19th century, with one-story wings dated to 1823–1824. The original section has a hall-parlor plan dwelling. Butler Greenwood Plantation
The Butler Greenwood Plantation is a plantation in Louisiana. It is on U.S. Route 61, to the north of St. Francisville, Louisiana. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. History The plantation was created by Dr. Samuel Flower, a Quaker physician who relocated from Pennsylvania during the 1770s when the area was British territory. Later, when Spain gained control (see St. Francisville, Louisiana, history), he gave medical treatment to Governor Manuel Gayoso. When Dr. Flower died in 1813, the year after Louisiana became a state, his eight heirs would divide thousands of arpents of land in the Felicianas, Rapides Parish, along Bayou Manchac, and in the Mississippi Territory.
