Green Left
The term green left refers primarily to a political affiliation that combines elements of green politics and left-wing politics in countries where the term is used. It is primarily a social justice and human rights oriented ideology, with an expansion in focus to the rights of other species. It is often used in contrast with center-left green parties, that attempt to reconcile their environmental goals with a capitalistic framework, and, rarely, center-right green parties (like the Latvian Green Party and Ecologist Green Party of Mexico), that hold anti-feminist views. Examples of "green left" parties include GroenLinks in the Netherlands, the Green Party of the United States, the Left-Green Movement in Iceland, and the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand. Environmentalism
Environmentalism is a broad philosophy, ideology, and social movement about supporting life, habitats, and surroundings. While environmentalism focuses more on the environmental and nature-related aspects of green ideology and politics, ecologism combines the ideology of social ecology and environmentalism. ''Ecologism'' is more commonly used in continental European languages, while ''environmentalism'' is more commonly used in English but the words have slightly different connotations. Environmentalism advocates the preservation, restoration and improvement of the natural environment and critical earth system elements or processes such as the climate, and may be referred to as a movement to control pollution or protect plant and animal diversity. Green–Left Coalition
The Green–Left Coalition () was a left-wing electoral alliance in Croatia represented by six MPs. It is presently composed of the We Can! – Political Platform and New Left, as well some localist political parties and platforms, such as Zagreb is OURS! and For the City () movements from City of Zagreb and Srđ is the City! () from Dubrovnik. It promotes democratic socialism, green politics, and progressivism on social issues. Green–Left Front
Green–Left Front (, abbr. ZLF) is a green political party in Serbia. It is the successor of Do not let Belgrade drown association and four local citizens' groups. Radomir Lazović and Biljana Đorđević serve as the co-presidents of ZLF. Formed in July 2023, and registered as a political party a month later, ZLF was one of the organisers of the 2023 Serbian protests. It later became part of the Serbia Against Violence coalition which contested the parliamentary, Vojvodina provincial, and Belgrade City Assembly elections in December 2023. The Green Left, since March 2022 the English name for Socialistisk Folkeparti (, , abbr. SF), is a democratic socialist political party in Denmark. SF was founded on 15 February 1959 by Aksel Larsen, a former leader of the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP), who was removed for criticizing the Soviet intervention in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Larsen aimed to create a third way between Denmark's U.S.-oriented social democracy and Soviet-oriented communism, combining democracy with socialism. SF entered the Folketing in the 1960 Danish general election, while the DKP lost its seats. SF became involved in peace, anti-nuclear, and grassroots movements, advocating for independence from the Soviet Union. The Green Left (, ; ZB), was a green eco-socialist political party in Hungary, founded in 2009. History It was established by the merger of the Alliance of Green Democrats (ZDSZ), the European Feminist Initiative for a Different Europe (EFKEME) and the Workers' Party of Hungary 2006. It has a green socialist, radical left, anti-capitalist and alter-globalist ideology. In March 2009, the Hungarian Anti-Fascist League and the Social Charta 2008 joined the alliance.
