''Great Scott – It's Maynard!'' was a British television series which aired on the BBC from 1955 to 1956. It was a popular comedy sketch series starring Bill Maynard and Terry Scott, with musical guests including Petula Clark. Bill Maynard
Walter Frederick George Williams (8 October 1928 – 30 March 2018), better known by his stage name Bill Maynard, was an English comedian and actor. He began working in television in the 1950s, notably starring alongside Terry Scott in '' Great Scott – It's Maynard!'' (1955–56). In the 1970s and 1980s, he starred in the successful British sitcoms '' Oh No It's Selwyn Froggitt'' and '' The Gaffer'' and appeared in five films in the ''Carry On'' series. After a hiatus from television work in the late 1980s, Maynard starred as Claude Jeremiah Greengrass in the long-running television series '' Heartbeat'' from 1992 to 2000, reprising the character in the spin-off ''The Royal'' in 2003. Hugh Lloyd
Hugh Lewis Lloyd (22 April 1923 – 14 July 2008) was an English actor who made his name in film and television comedy from the 1960s to the 1980s. He was best known for appearances in '' Hancock's Half Hour'', '' Hugh and I'' and other sitcoms of the 1960s. Life and career Lloyd was born on 22 April 1923 in Chester, Cheshire and attended the King's School. After leaving school he spent two years as a newspaper reporter on the ''Chester Chronicle''. His first professional acting appearance was with ENSA and he worked in repertory theatres until 1957, when he made the first of 25 appearances in the television series '' Hancock's Half Hour''. Many years after its first transmission, he is still remembered as the character in the episode entitled '' The Blood Donor'' in which he forgets to return Tony Hancock's wine gums.
