The Governor of Kamchatka Krai (russian: Губернатор Камчатского края) is the Governor (Russia), governor of Kamchatka Krai, a Federal subjects of Russia, federal subject of Russia. The governor is the highest-ranking official and Head of Administration, head of administration of the government of Kamchatka Krai, and is elected for a five-year term that is renewable once consecutively. The office of Governor of Kamchatka Krai was established when Kamchatka Krai was formed on 1 July 2007 as a result of the unification of Kamchatka Oblast and Koryak Autonomous Okrug. Vladimir Viktorovich Solodov (Russian: Владимир Викторович Солодов; born 26 July 1982) is a Russian statesman who has been the Governor of Kamchatka Krai since 21 September 2020. Solodov acted as the temporary Governor from 3 April until 21 September 2020. Solodov was previously the chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from 2018 to 2020. 2020 Russian Regional Elections
The 2020 Russian regional elections took place across three days from 11 to 13 September 2020 in 28 out of the 85 federal subjects of Russia. Elected were 18 directly-elected governors, 2 indirectly-elected governors and 11 regional parliaments. The elections also coincided with local elections in many cities. A total of 156,000 candidates stood for 78,000 positions at regional, local and municipal levels. The vote was extended over three days in a move the government said was to avoid over-crowding and reduce the risk from COVID-19. Candidates for the ruling United Russia party and their allies won all 20 governorships with more than 50% of the vote, meaning they would not need to hold a second round run-off.
