LPSN
List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) is an online database that maintains information on the naming and taxonomy image:Hierarchical clustering diagram.png, 280px, Generalized scheme of taxonomy Taxonomy is a practice and science concerned with classification or categorization. Typically, there are two parts to it: the development of an underlying scheme o ... of prokaryotes, following the taxonomy requirements and rulings of the International Code of Nomenclature of Prokaryotes. The database was curated from 1997 to June 2013 by Jean P. Euzéby. From July 2013 to January 2020, LPSN was curated by Aidan C. Parte. In February 2020, a new version of LPSN was published as a service of the Leibniz Institute DSMZ, thereby also integrating the Prokaryotic Nomenclature Up-to-date service and since 2022 LPSN is interconnected with the Type (Strain) Genome Server (TYGS), DSMZ's high-throughput platform for accurate genome-based taxonomy. Gordonia (bacterium)
''Gordonia'' is a genus of gram-positive to gram-variable, aerobic, catalase-positive bacterium in the Actinomycetota, closely related to the ''Rhodococcus'', ''Mycobacterium'', ''Skermania'', and ''Nocardia'' genera. ''Gordonia'' bacteria are non-motile, and non-sporulating. ''Gordonia'' is from the same lineage that includes ''Mycobacterium tuberculosis''. The genus was discovered by Tsukamura in 1971 and named after American bacteriologist Ruth Gordon. Many species are often found in the soil, while other species have been isolated from aquatic environments. Some species have been associated with problems like sludge bulking and foaming in wastewater treatment plants. ''Gordonia'' species are rarely known to cause infections in humans. Some pathogenic instances of ''Gordonia'' have been reported to cause skin and soft tissue infections, including bacteremia and cutaneous infections. Though infections are generally treated with antibiotics, surgical procedures are sometimes ...

Mycobacteriales
The Mycobacteriales are an order of bacteria. The current description is genome-based, per Gupta 2019 emendation. Most members produce mycolic acids. Phylogeny The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN). Terminology ''Mycolata'' has been used as a non-taxonomic term for mycolic acid-containing Actinobacteria. Mycobacteriales includes all such species, but it also includes some without mycolic acid, making these two terms imperfect, paraphyletic, aliases.
