''Goodbye to the Gallows'' is the debut full-length studio album by Emmure, released through Victory Records in the UK on March 5, 2007, and in the US on March 6. A vinyl reissue of the album was also released by Victory in 2013. The two guitarists on this release play 7 strings in Drop A# tuning (Drop Bb), which makes this and '' The Respect Issue'' the only Emmure albums to feature these tunings. Emmure Albums
Emmure () is an American metalcore band formed in 2003. Originally based in New Fairfield, Connecticut, before moving to Queens, New York, the group has released eight albums, with their first public release being a 2006 EP entitled ''The Complete Guide to Needlework''. Victory Records has worked with the band throughout most of their career, starting with ''Goodbye to the Gallows'' (2007). Misery Signals
Misery Signals is an American-Canadian metalcore band formed in Wisconsin in 2002. History Formation (2002–2003) Misery Signals was formed after the disbanding of several bands, including 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Hamartia, and Compromise. Having played briefly with 7 Angels 7 Plagues, former Compromise vocalist, Jesse Zaraska, was approached by Ryan Morgan and Kyle Johnson for a new project which would become Misery Signals. Jeff Aust from Hamartia joined on as second guitar and Ryan Morgan's brother Branden joined as the band's drummer. Aust soon left the band and has since gone on to join With Honor. Seven-string Guitar
The seven-string guitar adds one additional string to the more common six-string guitar, commonly used to extend the bass range (usually a low B) or also to extend the treble range. The additional string is added in one of two different ways: by increasing the width of the fingerboard such that the additional string may be fretted by the left hand; or, by leaving the fingerboard unchanged and adding a "floating" bass string. In the latter case, the extra bass string lies next to the existing bass strings, but free of the fingerboard in similar fashion as the archlute and theorbo.
