"Gone" is a song by Irish rock band U2, and is the seventh track on their 1997 album, '' Pop''. It is also included on their 2002 compilation album, ''The Best of 1990–2000'', in a reworked version. A highlight of the PopMart Tour, it was often dedicated to Michael Hutchence during the final few months of the PopMart Tour and during the following Elevation Tour in 2001. Lead vocalist Bono frequently refers to it as one of his favorite songs of the band's. Guitarist the Edge has also stated he was very pleased with the "New Mix" of the song available on the 2002 compilation ''The Best of 1990–2000''. "Gone", along with several other tracks from ''Pop'' and the band's previous 1993 album ''Zooropa'', were remixed and either dubbed "The New Mix" or "Mike Hedges Mix" to help fit in with the more instrumentally-conservative songs of the 2000 album ''All That You Can't Leave Behind''. ''Pop'' is the ninth studio album by Irish rock music, rock band U2. It was produced by Flood (producer), Flood, Howie B, and Steve Osborne, and was released on 3 March 1997 on Island Records. The album was a continuation of the band's 1990s musical reinvention, as they incorporated alternative rock, techno, electronic dance music, dance, and electronica influences into their sound. ''Pop'' employed a variety of production techniques that were relatively new to U2, including Sampling (music), sampling, Music loop, loops, Programming (music), programmed drum machines, and Music sequencer, sequencing. Gretsch
Gretsch is an American company that manufactures and markets musical instruments. The company was founded in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York by Friedrich Gretsch, a 27-year-old German immigrant, shortly after his arrival to the United States. Friedrich Gretsch manufactured banjos, tambourines, and drums until his death in 1895. Rickenbacker International Corporation is a string instrument manufacturer based in Santa Ana, California. Rickenbacker is the first known maker of electric guitars, with a steel guitar in 1932, and produces a range of electric guitars and basses. History Founding Adolph Rickenbacher and George Beauchamp founded the company in 1931 as the Ro-Pat-In Corporation (ElectRo-Patent-Instruments) to sell electric Hawaiian guitars. Beauchamp designed his instruments in collaboration with Paul Barth and Harry Watson, who had been active in the National String Instrument Corporation. "Kite" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the fifth track on their 2000 album '' All That You Can't Leave Behind''. Writing and recording For three weeks in late 1998, U2 worked at Hanover Quay Studios with producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois in hopes of quickly developing new material for a studio album, which would become '' All That You Can't Leave Behind''. With Eno on keyboards and Lanois on rhythm guitar and percussion, the six of them composed songs during jam sessions. Guitarist the Edge said that these group sessions did not produce many great ideas, resulting in him bringing in his own individual musical ideas for them to work on. One of these was a loop of a string section that inspired "Kite". After hearing the loop, the others quickly improvised the entirety of the song. "I Will Follow" is a song by Irish rock music, rock band U2. It is the opening track from their debut album, ''Boy (album), Boy'', and it was released as the album's second single (music), single in October 1980. Lead singer Bono wrote the lyrics to "I Will Follow" in tribute to his mother Iris Hewson, who died when he was 14 years old.
