Gold Star FC Detroit is an American professional soccer team based in Livonia, Michigan in Metro Detroit, that is an inactive member of the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), on the third tier of the United States soccer league system. History Founding On July 22, 2022, after Gold Star Sports Management Group, led by Ukrainian-American Entrepreneur, Daniel Milstein, announced to acquire an Andorran football club FC Santa Coloma, the club was established on the same day after being granted entry into the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). On October 18, 2022, Gold Star FC Detroit announced that the team's CEO and general manager, Alex Lubyansky would be the first head coach for their inaugural season. Daniel Milstein
Daniel Milstein (; ; born November 8, 1975) is an American entrepreneur of Jewish–Ukrainian origin, agent of many Russian NHL players. Milstein’s 2013 autobiography ''17 Cents and a Dream'' detailed his family’s emigration from Ukraine on the day the country affirmed its independence from the then-USSR. He is the Founder and CEO of Gold Star Financial Group, NHL agent with Gold Star Hockey. He is the founder and owner of Gold Star group, which includes Gold Star Financial Group and Gold Star Sports. Notable clients include Pavel Datsyuk, Nikita Kucherov and Ilya Mikheyev. Early life and education Daniel Milstein was born to a Ukrainian-Jewish family in Kyiv, Ukraine, then part the Soviet Union. National Independent Soccer Association
The National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States. The league is previously in the third tier of American soccer and began play in 2019. NISA initially used a fall-to-spring season format with a winter break but have switched to spring-to-fall which is more common in the United States. History League beginnings On June 6, 2017, it was announced that the newly formed National Independent Soccer Association would begin play in 2018 targeting an initial 8 to 10 teams, later revised to 8 to 12 teams. United States Soccer League System
The United States soccer league system is a series of professional and amateur soccer leagues based, in whole or in part, in the United States. Although sometimes called the American soccer pyramid, teams and leagues are not linked by a system of promotion and relegation as is common in other countries. FC Santa Coloma
FC Santa Coloma is an Andorran professional football club based in Santa Coloma, parish of Andorra la Vella, that competes in the Primera Divisió. It is the most successful team in both Primera Divisió and Copa Constitució, having won both titles thirteen and ten times respectively. Madonna University is a private Catholic university in Livonia, Michigan, United States. It was founded as the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Junior College by the Felician Sisters in 1937. Ladywood High School
Ladywood High School was a private, Roman Catholic, all-girls high school in Livonia, Michigan. It was located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. It opened in 1950. From 2005 to 2017 the number of students declined by 60%, with 169 students in 2017. In December 2017, the archdiocese announced that Ladywood High School would close at the end of the 2017–2018 school year. Operations Ladywood High School was associated with the Felician Sisters, an organization that also owns nearby Madonna University.
