Frank O'Connor (director)
Frank O'Connor (died November 22, 1959) was an American character actor and director involved in approximately 300 productions. He was a director of several films; he also penned multiple screenplays. Career In 1920, Frank O'Connor arrived in Hollywood, where he joined the Lasky Players. Henry Miller mentored him. Later, O'Connor was a freelance writer and character actor. After a career as a film director, he attempted to produce his own and, in the words of the ''San Francisco Examiner'', "went broke"; he subsequently worked as an extra. Personal life O'Connor was married to a woman named Susan, and they had three children; he died in Los Angeles, California on November 22, 1959, at 78 years old. Ethel Wales (April 4, 1878 – February 15, 1952) was an American actress who appeared in more than 130 films during her 30-year career. Biography Born in 1878 in Passaic, New Jersey, Wales graduated from "Wisconsin university". Wales had a multifaceted professional relationship with Cecil DeMille and William deMille, beginning with her acting in their plays in the eastern United States. When the brothers moved to Hollywood and began working with films, Wales was their secretary and casting director. In 1927, Cecil De Mille signed her to a long-term contract to act in films. Francis McDonald (August 22, 1891 – September 18, 1968) was an American actor whose career spanned 52 years. Early years Born on August 22, 1891, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, McDonald was the son of John Francis McDonald and Catherine Ashlue McDonald. He was educated at Xavier University, St. Xavier College in Cincinnati, Ohio. Stage and film McDonald's started acting professionally in Repertory theatre, stock theater with the Forepaugh Stock Company in Cincinnati. Following eight months with it, he worked one season with a stock company in Seattle, after which he performed for three seasons with a troupe in San Diego and Honolulu. He concluded his tenure in stock theater as juvenile leading man with the American Stock Company in Spokane, Washington. By 1913 McDonald began to perform in the rapidly expanding film industry, initially working for Marion Leonard, Marion Leonard's Monopole Company in Hollywood. DeWitt Clarke Jennings (June 21, 1871 – March 1, 1937) was an American film and stage actor. He appeared in 17 Broadway plays between 1906 and 1920, and in more than 150 films between 1915 and 1937. Biography He was born in Cameron, Missouri on June 21, 1871, to Georgia S. and Oliver A. Jennings.
