Glob (comics)
The Glob is the name of different fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history The first Glob debuted in '' The Incredible Hulk'' (vol. 2) #121 (November 1969), and was created by Roy Thomas and Herb Trimpe. Roy Thomas has stated that the character was a conscious imitation of the Heap. Thomas intended to call the character the Shape, but editor Stan Lee thought that name sounded too feminine, and insisted on the name "the Glob". The second Glob debuted in ''The Incredible Hulk'' (vol. 2) #389 (January 1992), and was created by Tom Field and Gary Barker. The Collector (Taneleer Tivan) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Don Heck, the character first appeared in '' The Avengers'' #28 (May 1966), during the Silver Age of Comic Books, and has been a recurring antagonist in various storylines over the course of the ensuing decades. Dennis Publishing Ltd. was a British publisher. It was founded in 1973 by Felix Dennis. Its first publication was a kung-fu magazine. Most of its titles now belong to Future plc. In the 1980s, it became a leading publisher of computer enthusiast magazines in the United Kingdom. Xavier Institute Student Body
The Xavier Institute was one of the fictional schools situated at X-Mansion in the Marvel Universe, published in American comic books by Marvel Comics. The school was originally opened as ''Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters'' by Professor Xavier and served as the home of the X-Men and New Mutants. Students lived under pretence that they were students of Professor X to keep their mutant nature a secret from the outside world. The school was eventually renamed as ''Xavier Institute for Higher Learning''. At one point of its history, ''Massachusetts Academy'' was reopened by Banshee and White Queen but as the branch of Xavier Institute to train Generation X. Glob Herman (Robert Herman) is a fictional mutant character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Grant Morrison and Ethan Van Sciver, and first appeared in '' New X-Men'' #117 (September 2001). Glob Herman's mutation made his flesh into a transluscent, pink paraffin, leaving his internal organs and skeleton visible while also giving him enhanced strength and durability. Glob initially joined the Xavier Institute as a student, becoming a rebellious member after befriending Quentin Quire. ''Journey into Mystery'' is an American comic book series initially published by Atlas Comics, then by its successor, Marvel Comics. Initially a horror comics anthology, it changed to giant-monster and science fiction stories in the late 1950s. Beginning with issue #83 (cover dated Aug. 1962), it ran the superhero feature " The Mighty Thor", created by writers Stan Lee and Larry Lieber and artist Jack Kirby, and inspired by the mythological Norse thunder god.
