Gleadless Townend Tram Stop
Gleadless Townend is a tram stop on the South Yorkshire Supertram network, opened on 5 December 1994. It is located on Ridgeway Road, in Gleadless, north of the White Lane road junction. This stop used to be the terminus of the line before it was extended further to Halfway and Herdings Park in 1995. History This stop was opened along with the track section between Spring Lane and Gleadless Townend in December 1994. This stop was the southern terminus of the line. For the next four months, trams terminated and used the future city-bound platform as a turnback platform. The line was extended to Halfway in March 1995. A short spur to Herdings Park from this stop was also opened in April 1995 (a week afterward). South Yorkshire Supertram
The South Yorkshire Supertram, sometimes referred to as the Sheffield Supertram, is a tram and tram-train network covering Sheffield and Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England. The network is owned and operated by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA). Interest in building a modern tram system for Sheffield had mounted during the 1980s. After detailed planning by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE), the Supertram proposal was approved by an act of Parliament in 1991. Construction of the network, incorporating several existing heavy rail sections as well as new track, was carried out in sections, allowing revenue services to start during 1994. Early operations, hindered by a complex ticketing system and the initially small coverage area, had disappointing ridership figures.

Sheffield Interchange is the main bus station in central Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The facility is served by buses operating across the Sheffield region, as well as National Express coaches that connect Sheffield with destinations across the United Kingdom.
