Giuseppe D'Amato
Giuseppe D'Amato (born 1965) is an Italian historian, specializing in Russia and the former USSR The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Biography After getting a degree in Italy in the 1980s, D'Amato became a scholar of the Russian academician Sigurd Ottovich Schmidt (in Russian Шмидт, Сигурд Оттович) at Moscow's Historical-Archive Institute ( Russian State University for the Humanities) in the 1990s. He got a Ph.D. in history. Writing D'Amato wrote a book about Italian travellers to Russia in the 15th -16th centuries and studied Russian-Italian relationships. Marshall Tillbrook Poe (born December 29, 1961) is an American historian, writer, editor and founder of the New Books Network, an online collection of podcast interviews with a wide range of non-fiction authors. He has taught Russian, European, Eurasian and World history at various universities including Harvard, Columbia, University of Iowa, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has also taught courses on new media and online collaboration. Poe is the author or editor of a number of books on early modern Russia.
