Giuseppe Bianchi (engineer)
Giuseppe Bianchi (26 August 1888 – Milan, 20 July 1969) was an Italian railway engineer on the Ferrovie dello Stato between 1913 and 1946. Life Born at Imola, Bianchi graduated in electrical mechanical engineering at the University of Turin in 1912. Offered a job by Ferrovie dello Stato, the operator of the Italian rail network, he was first assigned to the select committee for the electrification of Rome. In 1920 Bianchi was transferred to the office for locomotive research within the Servizio materiale e trazione (Rolling Stock and Locomotive Service) at Florence (where it still resides, under a different name). Although Bianchi distinguished himself through projects involving steam locomotives for mainline services (like the three variations of the planned Class 695 for Ferrovie dello Stato, as well as the Class 691 obtained by rebuilding the Class 690), his work was central to the transition from steam to electric power. FS Class E636
The FS E.636 is a class of Italian articulated electric locomotives. They were introduced in the course of the 1940s until the 1960s, and have been decommissioned since 2006. They have been one of the most numerous Italian locomotive group, and have been widely employed during their long career, hauling every type of train, ranging from freight to long range passenger services. Their introduction also saw the employment of some revolutionary (for the time) design concepts, such as the articulated carbody and the three bogies scheme. ''Linea'' is a genus of foraminifera belonging to the subfamily Rhabdammininae. It is a monotypic genus containing the sole species ''Linea simplex''. Morphology ''Linea simplex'' has an overall string-like appearance, with a thin unbranching test in the shape of a flexible tube with a consistent diameter of around 80 μm. The tube is several centimeters long, irregularly filled by dark material, presumably stercomata. It is morphologically similar to '' Dendrophrya'' except it is unbranched. It also has similarities with '' Bathysiphon'' but is smaller in diameter and has a much thinner wall section. Taxonomy The genus and species were described in 1989 by C. J. Schröder, F. S. The FS E.428 was a class of Italian railways electric locomotives. They were introduced in the course of the 1930s, for fast services on the Florence–Rome railway, being decommissioned in the 1980s. History When in the 1930s, in the course of the Fascist government's program of railways development, a new locomotive was needed to provide a fast service on the newly electrified Milan-Rome mainline at 3,000 V DC.
