Girls In Hawaii
Girls in Hawaii is a Belgian indie pop band. Girls in Hawaii's first release was ''Found in the Ground: The Winter EP'' in early 2003, after which the band toured Belgium and France. In the meantime they started recording what would become their first LP. ''From Here To There'' was released in November 2003 in Belgium and in early 2004 in Europe. It was well-received across Europe, where the band went on a promotional tour through Belgium, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. The record was later released in Japan and, in October 2005, China Shop Music released it in the United States. The band started a short tour of the West Coast of the United States in April 2006. Their second full-length album, ''Plan Your Escape'', was released in February 2008 in Europe. Alain Bashung
Alain Bashung (born Alain Claude Baschung, ; 1 December 1947 – 14 March 2009) was a French singer, songwriter and actor. Credited with reviving the French chanson in "a time of French musical turmoil", he is often regarded as the most important French rock musician after Serge Gainsbourg. He rose to prominence in the early 1980s with hit songs such as " Gaby oh Gaby" and "Vertige de l'amour", and later had a string of hit records from the 1990s onward, such as "Osez Joséphine", "Ma petite entreprise" and "La nuit je mens". Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created in 1995 on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published; one is on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. Noir Désir
Noir Désir (, ) was a French rock band from Bordeaux that formed in 1980. Their most consistent lineup featured Bertrand Cantat (vocals, guitar), Serge Teyssot-Gay (guitar), Frédéric Vidalenc (bass guitar) and Denis Barthe (drums). Jean-Paul Roy became the band's bassist in 1996 after Vidalenc's departure. They released six albums, two of which were certified double platinum in France and three which were certified gold. They have been an influence on numerous French musicians including Cali, Louise Attaque and Miossec. Their most popular song, " Le vent nous portera" (2001), reached number one in Italy and number three in France. The band entered an inactive state after frontman Cantat was imprisoned for the 2003 murder of French actress Marie Trintignant.
