Gibson Hall is a building at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. It sits across from Audubon Park. History Constructed in 1894, Gibson Hall is the oldest structure on the present Tulane University campus. It faces on to St. Charles Avenue and is the entry landmark to the uptown campus. It was designed by architects Harrod and Andry in the Richardsonian Romanesque style and constructed of stone over brick. The University of Arkansas Campus Historic District is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 23, 2009. The district covers the historic core of the University of Arkansas campus, including 25 buildings. (90 pages, with maps and b&w photos) The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on September 23, 2009, and the listing was announced as the featured listing in the National Park Service's weekly list of October 2, 2009. The Inn at Carnall Hall is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The historical core of campus was built in many phases, coincident with when funding was available to build. The Gibson Hall is a Grade I listed building at 13 Bishopsgate in the City of London. Previously known as National Westminster Hall, the building is named after its architect, John Gibson (architect), John Gibson. Built of Portland stone in the classical style with engaged Corinthian columns, the building was commissioned as a new head office by the directors of the National Provincial Bank of England and completed in 1865. Opening in 1866, there were only 4 arched bays and just seven figures stood atop. The additional two-bay extension and rooftop figures, Shipbuilding and Mining, were added in 1878, relocating the figure for London so that it remained at the corner of the then newly extended building. The exterior elevation features eight panels of allegorical scenes in high relief representing the achievements of mankind: the Arts, Commerce, Science, Manufactures, Agriculture, Navigation, Shipbuilding and Mining.
