George Gibb (transport Administrator)
Sir George Stegmann Gibb (30 April 1850 – 17 December 1925) was a British transport administrator who served as the general manager of the North Eastern Railway, managing director of the Underground Electric Railways Company of London, and as chairman of the former British Road Board. Early life George Gibb was born in Aberdeen, the son of engineer Alexander Gibb (1804–1867) and the former Margaret Smith and grandson of civil engineer John Gibb (1776–1850). Gibb attended Aberdeen Grammar School and the University of Aberdeen before taking a law degree at the University of London. After spending time working in shipping and marine insurance, he was articled to a solicitor in 1872. Sir Nicolas John Gibb (born 3 September 1960) is a British politician who served as Minister of State for Schools from 2010 to 2012; 2014 to 2021 and from 2022 to 2023. Maurice Peter Gibb (7 February 1914 – 6 August 2000) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne Football Club, Melbourne in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1930s and early 1940s. Gibb originally tried out for Carlton Football Club, Carlton but after being rejected was picked up by Melbourne after winning the 1933 Gippsland Football League's best and fairest award, the List_of_Gippsland_Football_League_best_and_fairest_winners#Best_and_Fairest_Lists, Trood Medal. He was a forward and had his most prolific season in 1935 when he topped Melbourne's goalkicking with 59 goals in a tally which included two bags of nine. Maurice Ernest Gibb (; 22 December 1949 – 12 January 2003) was a British musician and songwriter. He achieved global fame as a member of the Bee Gees pop group. Although his elder brother Barry Gibb and fraternal twin brother Robin Gibb were the group's main lead singers, most of their albums included at least one or two songs featuring Maurice's lead vocals, including "Lay It on Me (Bee Gees song), Lay It on Me", "Country Woman" and "On Time (song), On Time". The Bee Gees are one of the most successful pop-rock groups of all time. Joel W. Gibb (born 28 January 1977) is a Berlin-based Canadian artist and singer-songwriter who leads the "gay church folk" group The Hidden Cameras. He was born in Kincardine, Ontario. Career His first involvement with the music scene was as editor of a fanzine devoted to independent bands, ''Glamour Guide for Trash''. He also hosted a college radio show at CFRE-FM in Mississauga, Ontario. At the same time, he was writing his own songs and, in 2001, he released some of his recordings under the name The Hidden Cameras on his own independent record label EvilEvil, a CD entitled '' Ecce Homo''.
