Giavera del Montello is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Treviso in the Italian region Veneto, located about northwest of Venice and about northwest of Treviso. Giavera del Montello borders the following municipalities: Arcade, Nervesa della Battaglia, Povegliano, Sernaglia della Battaglia, Volpago del Montello. Origins of the name The name Giavera is clearly linked to the stream of the same name. In turn, the hydronym would derive from the Latin glaber "smooth" or otherwise "world", in reference to the lands crossed or its waters. The World Championship of Speedway is an international competition between the highest-ranked motorcycle speedway riders of the world, run under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM).
