Ghulam Hassan Safi
Ghulam Hassan Safi (1902–1984) (Safi alternative spelling for Safay, Sapi, Saapai etc.) was a prominent Afghan politician and diplomat. He was one of the founding members of Afghan political movement Weesh Zalmyan (Awakened Youth). Other founding members of the movement were Qazi Bahram, Abdul Hadi Tokhay, Mohammad Rasul Pashtun, Fayz Mohammad Angar, Gul Pacha Ulfat, Qiamuddin Khadem, Ghulam Mohayuddin Zurmulwal, Abdur Raof Benawa, Nur Mohammad Taraki, and others. He was born in Omarzai district of Laghman Province, Laghman, a province in eastern Afghanistan. Ghulam Hassan Safi is father of Afghan politician and law professor Dr. Wadir Safi. Ghulam Hassan Shaggan (1928, in Amritsar – 3 February 2015) was a Pakistani classical music singer of the Gwalior Gharana from the Hindustani classical music genre. Ustad Ghulam Hassan Shaggan was the recipient of numerous awards including the Pride of Performance (1988) and Sitara-e-Imtiaz (2000) (Star of Excellence) from the Government of Pakistan. Personal life and early years His father's name was Bhai Lal Mohammad (died 1962), who belonged to the Gwalior-Kapurthala Gharana. Ghulam Hassan Shaggan, along with his father and family, moved to Pakistan in 1947 and settled in Lahore. Ghulam Hassan Shaggan lived in Iqbal Town, Lahore with his sons Qadir Shaggan (vocalist and music director) and Mazhar Shaggan ( rabab and mandolin player). Ghulam Hassan Sofi
Ghulam Hassan Sofi (1932, Srinagar - 2009, Srinagar) was a singer and harmonium player of traditional music of Kashmir, India. Sofi began his career from Radio Kashmir, local station of All India Radio, in the early 1950s. He also sang for the station Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar, and for the Cultural Academy, besides being part of the staff in the Song and Drama Division from 1967 to 1994. Sofi, who also performed in other states of India, received the lifetime award from the Union Information Ministry and the Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah award from the State Government in 2006. Haji Ghulam Hassan Khan (11 December 1936 – 17 December 2024) was an Indian politician from the union territory of Ladakh. Background Khan was born at Silmo a village of Batalik, Kargil on 11 December 1936. He married Zeben Nissa on 18 December 1963, and he had a bachelor's degree in arts from the University of Kashmir. Ghulam Hassan Pinglana
Ghulam Hassan Pinglana (d. 9 April 1996) was an Indian politician who was assassinated by an unknown gunman in his home village of Pinglana, Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir. Born in Pinglana (1939), he started his career as a leader of Shahoora agitation saying the government neglected Shahoora. He was later on elected to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council under an agreement reached between the Shahoora agitation committee and then prime minister Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad. In 1980 he was elected District President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC). He was later promoted and remained vice President of the JKPCC. In 1989 he resigned from congress and was believed to have come closer to pro freedom Jamat Islami.
