Ghetu Putro Komola
''Ghetuputra Komola'' (, ''Gheṭuputro Kômola'', Pleasure Boy Komola) is a 2012 Bangladeshi musical film written and directed by Humayun Ahmed and produced by Impress Telefilm. The film is Ahmed's last film before his death. It received National Film Awards (Bangladesh), National Film Awards in nine categories, including Best Director, Story, and Screenplay for Ahmed. The film was selected as the Bangladeshi entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist. Plot The story takes place 150 years ago, during the colonial era in a village called Jalshuka, in Habibganj. Humayun Ahmed
Humayun Ahmed ( Help:IPA/Bengali, [ɦumajuːn aɦmed]; 13 November 1948 – 19 July 2012) was a Bangladeshi novelist, Playwdramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and academic. His breakthrough was his debut novel ''Nondito Noroke'' published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books. He was one of the most popular authors and filmmakers in post-independence Bangladesh. Pakistani English newspaper Dawn (newspaper), Dawn referred to him as the cultural legend of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 2002. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. It was not created until the 1956 Academy Awards, in which a competitive Academy Award of Merit, known as the Best Foreign Language Film Award, was created for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since. The Shafi'i school or Shafi'i Madhhab () or Shafi'i is one of the four major schools of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), belonging to the Ahl al-Hadith tradition within Sunni Islam.
