German Submarine U-19 (1936)
German submarine ''U-19'' was a Type IIB U-boat of Nazi Germany's ''Kriegsmarine'' during World War II. Her keel was laid down on 20 July 1935, at the Germaniawerft of Kiel. She was launched on 21 December 1935, and commissioned on 16 January 1936, under the command of ''Kapitänleutnant'' Viktor Schütze. ''U-19'' conducted 20 patrols, sinking 15 ships totalling and 441 tons. On 1 May 1940, ''U-19'' was withdrawn from combat duty and used for training and as a school boat. She returned to active duty in the 30th U-boat Flotilla on 1 May 1942, after having been transported overland and along the Danube to the Black Sea. Peter Lohmeyer (born 22 January 1962 in Niedermarsberg) is a German actor. He has appeared in more than one hundred films since 1980. Life and career Lohmeyer is the youngest of three children of the Protestant pastor Dieter Lohmeyer and his wife. Due to his father's profession, he completed his school education at various places. From 1972–1974 he attended the Albrecht-Dürer-Gymnasium in Hagen, the Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Stuttgart from 1974 to 1976, and the Stadtgymnasium Dortmund from 1976 to 1981. From 1982 to 1984 he received acting lessons at the Westfälische Schauspielschule in Bochum, but left without graduating. Joachim Schepke
Joachim Schepke (8 March 1912 – 17 March 1941) was a German U-boat commander during World War II. He was the seventh recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. Schepke is credited with having sunk 36 Allied ships. During his career, he gained notoriety among fellow U-boat commanders for exaggerating the tonnage of ships sunk. Career Schepke joined the '' Reichsmarine'' in 1930. In 1934, he was assigned to the newly created U-boat arm, and in 1938 he commanded . After a short stint commanding and serving in a staff position, Schepke received the command of , a Type VIIB boat. After 5 patrols in ''U-100'' she was heavily damaged on 17 March 1941 by depth charges from HMS ''Walker'' and while attacking Convoy HX 112.
