Georgios Tanoulis
Georgios "Giorgos" Tanoulis ( Greek: Γεώργιος Τανούλης, born July 27, 2002) is a Greek professional basketball player for Aris of the Greek Basketball League and the EuroCup, on loan from Olympiacos. He is a 2.10 m (6'10) height power forward-center. Early life Tanoulis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece and started playing basketball early for Aris Thessaloniki and PAOK Thessaloniki youth teams. While playing for PAOK Thessaloniki, Tanoulis dominated the Greek Youth Championship and he ended the 2019/20 season as a member of the top five players. In the five games of the finals, he had 16.4 points on 71% shooting, 52% on 2-pointers and 30% on 3-pointers, along with 8.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five, the big or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is almost always the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. 2018–19 Greek Basket League
The 2018–19 Greek betshop.gr Basket League was the 79th season of the Greek Basket League, the top-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The season started on 7 October 2018, and ended on 15 June 2019. Panathinaikos OPAP won the Greek Basket League championship for a record 37th time, after beating Promitheas Patras 3–0 in the Finals. The season infamously featured a major feud between traditional rivals Panathinaikos and Olympiacos over refereeing decisions in the 2019 Greek Cup semifinals game between the two teams, which eventually culminated in Olympiacos also forfeiting their playoffs. 2022–23 EuroCup Basketball
The 2022–23 EuroCup Basketball season was the 21st season of Euroleague Basketball's secondary level professional club basketball tournament. It is the 15th season since it was renamed from the ULEB Cup to the EuroCup, and the seventh and final season under the title sponsorship name of 7DAYS. The season began on 11 October 2022 and ended 3 May 2023. Gran Canaria defeated Türk Telekom in the final, which was played at the Gran Canaria Arena in Las Palmas, to win their first EuroCup title. As winners, Gran Canaria automatically qualified for the 2023–24 EuroLeague. However, Gran Canaria gave up their spot in the league due to financial reasons. The 2020–21 EuroCup Basketball season was the 19th season of Euroleague Basketball's secondary level professional club basketball tournament. It was the 13th season since it was renamed from the ULEB Cup to the EuroCup, and the fifth season under the title sponsorship name of 7DAYS. The 2023–24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague was the 24th season of the modern era of the EuroLeague, and the 14th under the title sponsorship of Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this was the 67th season of the premier basketball competition for European men's clubs. For the third straight season, CSKA Moscow had their EuroLeague license rescinded following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Additionally, due to the war in Gaza, Maccabi Tel Aviv played abroad during most of the season, principally at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade; all games were behind closed doors. Latvian Basketball Association
The Latvian Basketball Association (), also known as LBS, is the national governing body of basketball in Latvia. It was founded in 1923 and was one of the FIBA Europe co-founders, but due to the Occupation of the Baltic states, Soviet and Nazi occupations, the federation disappeared from FIBA from 1940 to 1991. Its headquarters are located in Riga. Tournaments organized Latvian Basketball Association is recognized as one of the best international tournament organizers for FIBA. Greece Men's National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team () represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked 13th in the FIBA World Ranking. Greece have appeared nine times at the FIBA World Cup, with their best result coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Greece have taken part in the EuroBasket 28 times, winning the tournament twice, while also coming away with one silver (1989), as well as two bronze medals (1949, 2009). FIBA U20 European Championship
The FIBA U20 EuroBasket is the new name for the FIBA U20 European Championship, originally known as the European Championship for Men '22 and Under'. It is a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1992 edition. Through the 2004 edition, it was held biennially, but since the 2005 edition, it is held every year. The tournament was originally an Under-22 age tournament, but it is now an Under-20 age tournament. The current champions are France. Starting with the 2005 B edition, a Division B tournament, which is the secondary level of the European Under-20 Basketball Championship, is also organized. EuroLeague
The EuroLeague is a European men's professional basketball club competition. The league is widely recognised as the top-tier and the most prestigious men's basketball league in Europe. The league consists of 20 teams, of which 16 are given long-term licences and wild cards, making the league a semi-closed league. The league was first organized by FIBA in 1958, subsequently by ULEB in 2000 and then solely by Euroleague Basketball.
