Geoffrey Robinson (bishop)
Geoffrey James Robinson (10 August 1937 – 29 December 2020) was an Australian Roman Catholic bishop. Career Robinson was ordained for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney in 1960. He earned advanced degrees in philosophy, theology and canon law, first in Australia and subsequently in Rome. From 1967 until 1983, after a few years as a parish priest, he taught canon law at the Catholic Institute of Sydney. In addition to serving as chief justice of the archdiocesan marriage tribunal, he was secretary and then president of the Canon Law Society of Australia and New Zealand. For many years Robinson served as the chairman of the Sydney Archdiocesan Catholic Schools Board and the Australian Catholic Education Commission for New South Wales. Finally, he worked extensively in the areas of ecumenism and professional standards in ministry. Geoffrey Charles Robinson (born 18 July 1943) is a former New Zealand broadcaster, who was the co-host of ''Morning Report'' on Radio New Zealand National for all but four years from the programme's inception in 1975 until 2014. Biography Born in London, England in 1943, Robinson emigrated to New Zealand in 1965. He became a naturalized New Zealand citizen in 1978. After a five-year career in banking with the ANZ, Robinson became a broadcaster, joining the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation as an announcer on radio station 4ZB in Dunedin in 1970. He first presented ''Morning Report'' on what is now Radio New Zealand National on 6 June 1975, filling in for regular presenter Joe Kote, and became its permanent host the following year.
