Genshiken
is a Japanese manga series by Shimoku Kio about a college club for ''otaku'' (extremely obsessed fans of various media) and their lifestyle. The title is a shortening of the club's official name, , or "The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture". The series has also been adapted into an anime directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. The manga originally ran in Kodansha's magazine ''Monthly Afternoon'' from April 2002 to May 2006, and has been reprinted in nine tankōbon, bound volumes. A two-part short bonus story was included across both volumes of the ''Kujibiki Unbalance (2006 series), Kujibiki Unbalance'' manga, published in 2006. Kujibiki Unbalance
is a three-episode original video animation spin-off (media), spin-off of ''Genshiken'' series, as well as a series of three light novels by ''Genshiken'' anime collaborator Michiko Yokote. Within the world of ''Genshiken'', however, ''Kujibiki Unbalance'' is a popular manga and 26-episode anime adaptation, which is eagerly watched and discussed by the main characters. Kujibiki Unbalance (2006 Series)
is a 2006 anime series produced by Ajiado, initially based on the story within a story '' Kujibiki Unbalance'' that originated from Shimoku Kio's manga '' Genshiken''. It is directed by Tsutomu Mizushima and written by Michiko Yokote. It aired in Kids Station in Japan from October 6 to December 22, 2006. Notably different from the ''Genshiken'' version, it features redesigned characters and a new, yet familiar plot line. Arms (company)
was a Japanese animation studio based in Suginami, Tokyo and active from 1996 to 2020. It is mostly known for being the studio that created the popular anime adaptation, Elfen Lied History The studio was formed on November 18, 1996 as a split from Studio Kikan to operate the company's hentai brands. Studio Kikan was already producing hentai under its own name and the pseudonyms Triple X and Dandelion. Kinji Yoshimoto
was a Japanese animator, producer, writer and director. Some of his major works include ''Megazone 23'' and '' Plastic Little''.
