General Confederation Of Italian Industry
The General Confederation of Italian Industry (), commonly known as Confindustria, is the Italian small, medium, and big enterprises federation, acting as a private and autonomous chamber of commerce, founded in 1910. The association network is made of 222 associations, bringing together more than 150,000 companies of all sizes on a voluntary basis, accounting for around 5,400,000 individuals. It aims to help Italy's economic growth, assisting, in doing so, its members. It is a member of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE). The President is Emanuele Orsini since 23 May 2024. EUR, Rome
EUR is a residential area and the major business district in Rome, Italy, part of the Municipio IX. The area was originally chosen in the 1930s as the site for the 1942 World's Fair which Benito Mussolini planned to open to celebrate twenty years of Fascism, the letters EUR standing for Esposizione Universale Roma ("Rome Universal Exposition"). The project was originally called ''E42'' after the year in which the exhibition was to be held. EUR was also designed to direct the expansion of the city towards the south-west and the sea, and to be a new city centre for Rome. The planned exhibition never took place due to World War II. Guido Carli (28 March 1914 – 23 April 1993) was an Italian banker, economist, and politician. His father was the prominent fascist sociologist Filippo Carli. Biography He was the son of Filippo Carli (1876–1938), a university professor of Sociology and Political Economy, as well as a trade unionist and member of the National Fascist Party since its origins, who wrote a famous essay on the theoretical basis of the fascist state (corporate state). This fact led Guido Carli to write in some fascist magazines. Graduated in Law from the University of Padua, he began his career in 1937 as an official at IRI. Giuseppe Volpi, 1st Count of Misurata (19 November 1877 – 16 November 1947) was an Italian businessman and politician.
