''Gauntletak'' is a multidirectional shooter video game written by Donald R. Lebeau for Atari 8-bit computers. It was released as shareware in 1984 with a full-version available for a registration of . Gameplay is divided into separate screens (50 in all) with terrain and enemies. The game was originally titled ''Gauntlet'', but was renamed after the ''Gauntlet'' arcade game from Atari Games was released in 1985. Gameplay The player controls a saucer-shaped ship using a joystick and the keyboard, and can fire weapons in eight directions, both at the terrain (to dig holes or tunnels) and at enemies. The player uses the joystick to apply thrust in different directions, meaning the ship can be moving in one direction and firing in any other (strafing the ground or enemies). ''Dandy'' (later ''Dandy Dungeon'') is a dungeon crawl maze game for the Atari 8-bit family published by the Atari Program Exchange in 1983. It is one of the first video games with four-player, simultaneous cooperative play. Players equipped with bows and unlimited arrows fight through a maze containing monsters, monster spawners, keys, locked doors, food, and bombs in search of the exit leading to the next level. If a player dies, they can be revived by finding and shooting a heart. The game includes an editor for making new dungeons. ''Gauntlet'' is a 1985 fantasy-themed hack-and-slash arcade game developed and released by Atari Games. It is noted as being one of the first multiplayer dungeon crawl arcade games.
