Boris Garrós
Boris Garrós Torrent (born 22 June 1988) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Atlètic Lleida as a forward. Club career Early career Born in Barcelona, Catalonia, Garrós made his senior debut with CE Europa in the 2007–08 season, in Tercera División. In the following years, he played in the same tier, representing CD Masnou, UE Castelldefels, UE Cornellà before joining Segunda División B side UE Sant Andreu in the 2013 summer. On 22 September, he made his debut, coming on as a substitute for Ferrón in a 1–0 defeat against CF Reus Deportiu. After a stint with AE Prat in 2014, Garrós returned to the fourth tier and joined UE Rubí. In his only season for the club, he scored 10 goals in 21 games. Christian Garros
Christian Garros (February 17, 1920, Paris – August 23, 1988, Rouen) was a French jazz drummer and bandleader. Garros began playing professionally shortly after the end of World War II, working with Django Reinhardt and Jacques Hélian. He was a regular at clubs in Paris in the 1950s, including the Club Saint-Germain, and played with Bill Coleman, Bobby Jaspar, Lee Konitz, Martial Solal, and Lucky Thompson. He played with the Birdland All Stars in 1956 and was a founding member, with Georges Arvanitas and Guy Lafitte, of the Paris Jazz Trio in 1958. In the 1960s, he recorded with Alice Babs and Duke Ellington among others, and was a session musician for film and television soundtracks directed by Michel Legrand and Quincy Jones. In 1960 he began a longtime association with Jacques Loussier, and formed the Néo Jazz Quartet in 1976 with Roger Guérin, Pierre Michelot, and Michel de Villers. Pey de Garros ( modern Gascon: ''Pèir de Garròs''; 1530–1585), was the most important Occitan poet of the Renaissance. He was instrumental in the evolution of the Gascon dialect into a literary language. Garros was born at Lectoure, Gascony. He studied law, theology, and Hebrew at the University of Toulouse and served as the ''avocat-général'' of Pau for a time. He strove to restore the Gascon dialect to prominence, translating the Psalms into Gascon in 1565, as well as publishing a volume of poetry (''Poesias Gasconas'') in 1567. Eugène Adrien Roland Georges Garros (; 6 October 1888 – 5 October 1918) was a French aviation pioneer and fighter pilot. Garros began a career in aviation in 1909 and performed many early feats before joining the French army and becoming one of the earliest fighter pilots during World War I. In 1928, the Roland Garros tennis stadium was named in his memory; the French Open tennis tournament takes the name of Roland Garros as well as the stadium in which it is held.
