Ganges, Hérault
Ganges (; Languedocien: ''Gange'') is a commune in the Hérault department in Occitanie in southern France. Location Ganges is situated at the confluence of the Hérault and Rieutord rivers. History The castle, of which only ruins remain, was the scene of a murder in the 17th century. The beautiful Dianne de Roussan was killed by her husband's brothers, who wanted her large fortune. Natural silk was replaced by artificial, and later by nylon, and cottage industry gave way to factories; half a dozen or so still produce high quality stockings. Ganges Chasma
Ganges Chasma is a deep canyon at the eastern end of the vast Valles Marineris system on Mars, an offshoot of Capri Chasma, and is in the Coprates quadrangle. It is named after the River Ganges in South Asia. Ganges Chasma is thought to have formed through a series of catastrophic discharges of water and CO2 from chaos terrains such as that preserved in Ganges Chaos at its southern margin. Most of the evidence for these discharges and the ensuing collapses is believed to have been washed away. Prior to developing an outlet that joined it to Capri Chasma and the connected outflow channels to its east, Ganges Chasma may at some point in the Noachian period have contained a lake which drained northward through partially subsurface pathways into Shalbatana Vallis. USS Ganges (NCC-72454)
Runabouts ("''Danube''-class" vessels) are a fictional class of small, multi-purpose starships appearing in the ''Star Trek'' science-fiction franchise, primarily the television series ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', which aired on syndicated television between 1993 and 1999. They served as a means of transport for the crew of the fictional space station Deep Space Nine, in the early seasons of the series enabling storylines taking place away from the station. This spacecraft design was created primarily by Herman Zimmerman, Rick Sternbach and Jim Martin in the 1990s for ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', and later used throughout the franchise such as in books, comics, and games. Role in ''Deep Space Nine'' The idea for the runabout was prompted by the need to provide a way for characters to travel away from ''Deep Space Nine'', allowing the series to feature ''Star Trek''s themes of exploration and discovery despite being set on a stationary space station. In order to help the ...
