GAME (retailer)
Game Retail Limited (doing business as GAME) is a British video game retailer, owned by Frasers Group since June 2019. The company's origins lie in the founding of the Rhino Group by Terry Norris and Bev Ripley in 1992. A number of mergers and acquisitions followed during the 1990s, and in 1999, the company was purchased by Electronics Boutique Limited, which rebranded itself as The Game Group. The company continued to expand during the 2000s, purchasing several retailers including Gameswizards in Australia. In 2007, its parent company purchased its rival store, Gamestation. In March 2012, several suppliers, including publishers Nintendo, Electronic Arts and Capcom refused to supply their latest products due to concerns over Game's creditworthiness. (pronounced "Street Fighter Cross Tekken") is a 2012 crossover fighting video game published by Capcom, who developed with Dimps, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, and with QLOC for Windows. The game features characters from both the ''Street Fighter'' franchise and Namco's ''Tekken'' series. In the game, each player selects two characters respectively and face other as duos in tag team fighting matches, with the objective to knock out one of the members from the opposing team (deplete the opponent's health). Gameswizards, previously known as The Games Wizards, was an Australian Retailer which specialised in selling computer software, hardware and video game products. The company was established in Australia in January 1990. In 2006 the company was acquired by The Game Group PLC and re-branded as Game stores. History Games Wizards was founded in 1990, and by 1999 had 7 stores in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. In 2004 it received financial backing from Crescent Capital, and renamed itself from The Games Wizards to simply Gameswizards.
