Galactic Cowboys
Galactic Cowboys are an American heavy metal band based in Houston, Texas. They combine progressive metal with a vocal style influenced by The Beatles and the heavy playing style of thrash bands such as Anthrax. They have been described as "possibly the most melodic metal band ever to exist in Christian or general markets." Although the band members are Christians, they did not consider Galactic Cowboys to be a Christian band. The band has toured with prominent hard rock and metal acts such as Anthrax, Dream Theater, King's X and Overkill. Despite their general lack of commercial success, the band garnered a cult following throughout its existence. Galactic Cowboys first gained attention through their association with producer/manager Sam Taylor and tours with King's X, and were subsequently offered a major label record contract by DGC Records. ''Space In Your Face'' is the second studio album from heavy metal band Galactic Cowboys. It is the band's final album for DGC Records, who pulled the band's touring support shortly after the album's release. Trivia * The man on the cover of "Space In Your Face" is David Kitchens, former ranch hand for singer Ben Huggins’ brother-in-law, as he was the only person they could find who fit in the suit. * During the song "Where Are You Now?", you can hear a scripted phone conversation between bassist Monty Colvin, his wife (at the time) and singer Ben Huggins' wife. * There are two hidden tracks on this album; "Ranch on Mars" and "Still Life of Peace". Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a Music genre, genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Cult Following
A cult following is a group of fans who are highly dedicated to a person, idea, object, movement, or work, often an artist, in particular a performing artist, or an artwork in some medium. Overkill is an American thrash metal band, formed in 1980 in New Jersey. They have gone through many lineup changes, leaving bassist D.D. Verni and lead vocalist Bobby Ellsworth, Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth as the only remaining original members. The band's current lineup includes Verni, Ellsworth, Dave Linsk on lead guitar, Derek "The Skull" Tailer on rhythm guitar, and Jeramie Kling as a touring drummer.
