Futurama Season 2
The second season of ''Futurama'' began airing on November 21, 1999 and concluded after 19 episodes on December 3, 2000. Halfway through the season on February 6, 2000, Fox moved the show from its original timeslot of 8:30pm (following ''The Simpsons'') to 7pm. At this time, the show lost half of its viewers. The original 72-episode run of ''Futurama'' was ''produced'' as four seasons; Fox ''broadcast'' the episodes out of the intended order, resulting in five aired seasons. This list features the episodes in original ''production order'', as featured on the DVD box sets. The full nineteen episodes of the season have been released on a box set called ''Futurama: Volume Two'', on DVD and VHS. It was first released in the United Kingdom on November 11, 2002, with releases in other regions in 2003. Doctor Zoidberg
Dr. Johnathan Alfred Zoidberg, often referred to as John A. Zoidberg, or simply Zoidberg is a fictional character from the American animated series ''Futurama''. He is a Decapodian, a crustacean-like species of alien, who works as the staff doctor for ''Planet Express'', despite his woeful understanding of human physiology and questionable credentials. His character sharply contrasts with the typical image of a doctor as a wealthy and respected professional. For example, Zoidberg is extremely incompetent and lives in a dumpster. Zoidberg is voiced by Billy West, who performs the character with a Yiddish-inflected accent inspired by actors George Jessel and Lou Jacobi. Eric Kaplan is an American television writer and producer. His work has included shows such as '' Late Show with David Letterman'', '' Andy Richter Controls the Universe'', ''Malcolm in the Middle'', '' Futurama'' and ''The Simpsons''. He also worked on '' The Big Bang Theory'' throughout its run. Brian Sheesley (born April 14, 1967) is an American animation director who has worked on several comedy shows, including directing duties on '' The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy'', two episodes of ''The Critic'', nine episodes of ''Futurama'' and two episodes of ''King of the Hill''. Why Must I Be A Crustacean In Love?
"Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love?" is the fifth episode in the second season of the American animated television series ''Futurama'', and the 18th episode of the series overall. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on February 6, 2000. The episode is a parody of the '' Star Trek: The Original Series'' episode " Amok Time" and, in part, Cyrano de Bergerac. Plot Amy and Leela drag Fry and Bender to the gym, and Dr. Zoidberg tags along. While at the gym, Zoidberg behaves erratically and aggressively, and even develops a head fin. Back at the laboratory, Professor Farnsworth examines a restrained Zoidberg, and determines that it is mating season for Zoidberg's species. The crew flies to Zoidberg's home planet, Decapod 10, and, after a short tour, Zoidberg sets up a mound on the beach and begins trying to attract a mate. Peter Avanzino (born May 26, 1962) is an American animation director. He has directed several episodes of '' Futurama'', and served as supervising director on the 6th and 7th seasons of the series. Avanzino works for Rough Draft Studios in Glendale, California. Xmas Story
"Xmas Story" is the fourth episode in the second season of the American animated television series '' Futurama'', and the 17th episode of the series overall. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on December 19, 1999. The episode was written by David X. Cohen and directed by Peter Avanzino. John Goodman guest stars in this episode as Robot Santa. The plot of the episode focuses on the first Xmas that Fry spends in the future. Plot While on a ski trip, Fry begins to feel nostalgic for 20th century Christmases.
