Funeral Song (Stravinsky)
''Funeral Song'' (Погребальная песнь / ''Pogrebal'naya Pesnya'', or ''Chant funèbre)'', Op. 5, is an orchestral work by Igor Stravinsky. Composed in 1908 in memory of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, the work received one performance in 1909. The work was then lost and not rediscovered until 2015. Early history Stravinsky composed the work in 1908, upon the death of his teacher Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. It received its first performance on 17 January 1909 at the Grand Hall of the St Petersburg Conservatory, in a memorial programme for Rimsky-Korsakov. The orchestra of Count Sheremetev performed the work, conducted by Felix Blumenfeld. The score was lost after the first performance. Stravinsky later called the work "the best of my works before ''The Firebird'', and the most advanced in chromatic harmony." Paul Griffiths commented on Stravinsky's recollections of the work as follows, at a time when the manuscript was still considered to be lost: 'Here already is one ...

Fast Romantics
Fast Romantics is a Canadian indie rock band based in Toronto, Ontario and originally formed in Calgary, Alberta. Early beginnings Fast Romantics formed in 2009 by former members of long-running Calgary band The Mood, initially retaining three of its original members: Matthew Angus, Matthew Kliewer, and Jeffrey Lewis. Upon reforming, the band added Alan Reain on drums and began doing a number of local shows. The band added and lost many members in the years that followed, releasing two independent records, touring heavily, and eventually reforming in Toronto in 2014. The Fast Romantics debut, a self-titled LP, was a self-recorded effort released in 2008, and later mixed in Vancouver by Mike Fraser, who has also mixed albums by acts such as Franz Ferdinand, Elvis Costello, and Metallica. In 2008, Fast Romantics was one of the winners of the Xposure Contest hosted by Calgary alternative rock station X92.9/CFEX-FM, and three songs appeared on the resultant compilation CD. The ban ...

Mutual Core
"Mutual Core" is a song recorded by Icelandic singer Björk for her seventh studio album '' Biophilia'' (2011). It was written and produced by Björk herself, while programming and beats were made in collaboration with Matthew Herbert and the English dubstep band 16bit. "Mutual Core" is an uptempo experimental song. Its music includes Pipe organ, electronica-tinged sounds and features the Choir Graduale Nobili, the choir featured on ''Biophilia''. The song's lyrics are a metaphor for human relationships, compared to the structure of the Earth and Plate tectonics. The song was well received by contemporary music critics, who praised its production and beats, moreover appreciating Björk's voice on the track. As with all the songs on ''Biophilia'', an app was made for the song, which features a video game in which the player have to move geological layers as an accordion to play chords. Though the song wasn't released as a single, a music video was produced, directed by Andrew Tho ...

The album was produced by Jim Eno of American indie rock band Spoon and John Croslin, who produced the duo's debut album '' My Solo Project''. Critical reception ''Team Boo'' garnered positive reviews from music critics. Tim Sendra of AllMusic praised the album's upbeat production and the vocal work of Gardner and Hammel giving life and exuberance to even slower tracks like "Parachutes (Funeral Song)" and "An Experiment", saying that "''Team Boo'' is a record that will make even the staunchest nonbelievers believe in the power of simply played, honest, and energetic pop music again." ''Pitchfork'' writer Rob Mitchum said that despite some slow-placed tracks, the album was a return to form into '' My Solo Project'' territory thanks to the production work of John Croslin and Jim Eno leading them there, saying that "''Team Boo'' turns out to be a surp ...
