Full Contact (1992 Film)
''Full Contact'' () is a 1992 Hong Kong crime action film directed and produced by Ringo Lam. The film stars Chow Yun-fat, Simon Yam, Anthony Wong, and Ann Bridgewater. Plot The first part of the movie takes place in Bangkok, Thailand. Gou Fei's friend Sam Sei borrows money from a loan shark to give Gou Fei's departed mother a proper burial. The loan shark kidnaps Sam, and Gou Fei rescues him by confronting the loan shark and persuading him to give more time for Sam to re-pay the loan. The loan shark does not comply and orders his cohorts to kill Sam, but Gou Fei punches two of them before he engages a knife fight with the remaining gang members. After doing so, the loan shark attempts to shoot Gou Fei, but he wrestles the gun out of the shark's grasp, frees a trapped Sam Sei and escapes. Ringo Lam
Ringo Lam Ling-Tung (, 8 December 1955 – 29 December 2018) was a Hong Kong film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was known for his Action film, action and crime films produced during the Hong Kong New Wave, many of them comprising entries in the heroic bloodshed subgenre. He was nominated for six Hong Kong Film Awards, winning Hong Kong Film Award for Best Director, Best Director for his 1987 film ''City on Fire (1987 film), City on Fire'', which he followed with other similar films that shared a dark view of Hong Kong society, collectively known as the "On Fire" cycle. Lam's other notable films include ''Aces Go Places IV'' (1986), ''Prison on Fire'' (1987), ''Undeclared War'' (1990), ''Twin Dragons'' (1992, co-directed with Tsui Hark), and ''Full Contact'' (1992). Stephen Hunter (born March 25, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri) is an American novelist, essayist, and film critic. Life and career Hunter was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in Evanston, Illinois. His father was Charles Francis Hunter, a Northwestern University speech professor who was murdered in 1975 by two male prostitutes. His mother was Virginia Ricker Hunter, a writer of children's books. After graduating from Northwestern in 1968 with a degree in journalism, he was drafted for two years into the United States Army. He served in the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment in Washington, D.C., a unit that has both operational and ceremonial missions, the latter most notably being the guard force for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He also wrote for a military paper, the ''Pentagon News.'' He joined ''The Baltimore Sun'' in 1971, working at the copy desk of the newspaper's Sunday edition for a decade.
