Gustav Fröhlich
Gustav Friedrich Fröhlich (21 March 1902 – 22 December 1987) was a German actor and film director. He landed secondary roles in a number of films and plays before landing his breakthrough role of Freder Fredersen in Fritz Lang's 1927 in film, 1927 film ''Metropolis (1927 film), Metropolis''. He remained a popular film star in Germany until the 1950s. Early life and career Gustav Fröhlich was born an illegitimate child in Hanover and was raised by foster parents. Before becoming an actor, he worked for a short time as an editor of a provincial newspaper and as the author of popular novels. Josef Aloys Frölich
Josef Aloys Frölich or Alois von Frölich (10 March 1766, Marktoberdorf – 11 March 1841) was a German doctor, botanist and entomologist. He is not to be confused with Franz Anton Gottfried Frölich (1805–1878), his son, also an entomologist but specialising in Lepidoptera. John Froelich
John Froelich (November 24, 1849 – May 24, 1933) was an American inventor and entrepreneur, who invented the first stable gasoline-powered tractor with forward and reverse gears. He received several patents relating to tractors and internal combustion engines. Life and career Froelich was born in 1849 in Giard, Iowa to Henry and Kathryn () Froelich. Henry, whose original name was Johannes Heinrich Froelich, from Kurhessen, today part of the German state of Hesse. John Froelich grew up in the small town of Froelich, Iowa, named for his father Henry Froelich. As a young man he oversaw the operation of a grain elevator. Froelich operated a threshing business, and travelled Iowa and South Dakota laboring the Great Plains using steam-powered threshers. Johannes Frederik Fröhlich (21 August 1806 – 21 May 1860) (or Frølich), a Denmark, Danish violinist, conductor and composer, was a precursor of Niels Gade and J.P.E. Hartmann, and a central figure in Danish musical circles during the Romantic music, Romantic era. Biography He was a pupil of violinists Claus Schall and Friedrich Kuhlau. From 1827 he worked at the Royal Danish Theatre, Royal Theatre, Copenhagen, where he was chief conductor from 1836. Jacob Frolich
Jacob Frolich (November 15, 1837 – April 25, 1890) was a Bavarian-born, American politician who served as Arkansas Secretary of State from 1879 to 1885. He served as a colonel in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. He was the founder and publisher of the ''White County Record'', a Democratic Party–affiliated newspaper that took a strong stance against Radical Republicans and Reconstruction efforts in Arkansas after the Civil War. He was a leader in the White County, Arkansas, branch of the Ku Klux Klan and was indicted for the murder of an agent of the Arkansas Governor Powell Clayton who was investigating Klan activity in White County. He fled to Canada to avoid arrest but returned a year later to face trial and was acquitted of the crime. He served as assistant secretary of the Arkansas Senate in 1874 and chief secretary in 1878.
