Front For The Renewal Of Concordia
The Front for the Renewal of Social Concord (; FRCS), officially registered as the Party of Social Concord () is a Peronist provincial political party in Argentina, based in Misiones Province. It is regarded as the dominant party in the province, controlling both the governorship and the provincial legislature, as well as having a majority in provincial seats in both chambers of the National Congress. It is also the largest party within the eponymous Front for the Renewal of Concord alliance. Its purported ideological basis is the so-called "Misionerismo", which stands for further autonomy for Misiones. The Front was founded by Carlos Rovira, who was governor of Misiones from 1999 to 2007. Since then, the three past governors of the province (Maurice Closs from 2007 to 2015, Hugo Passalacqua from 2015 to 2019, Oscar Herrera Ahuad from 2019 to 2023, and Passalacqua again since 2023) have belonged to the FRCS. Carlos Rovira (politician)
Carlos Eduardo Rovira (born February 18, 1956) is an Argentine Justicialist Party (PJ) politician, until 2007 governor of Misiones Province at the head of the Front for the Renewal of Concord. Rovira was born in Posadas and studied chemical engineering at the National University of Misiones, later earning a postgraduate degree in chemical engineering at the University of Buenos Aires. After a period in academic research, he became an environmental consultant, focusing especially on water quality. He joined the provincial government in 1992, heading the transport department until 1995. In 1995, Rovira was elected Mayor of Posadas. In 1999 he was elected for a first term as Governor of Misiones. Oscar Herrera Ahuad (born 20 August 1971) is an Argentine physician and politician who is currently a member of the Chamber of Representatives of Misiones Province since 10 December 2023. He previously served as governor of Misiones from 2019 to 2023, and as Vice Governor under Hugo Passalacqua. Herrera Ahuad belongs to the Party of Social Concord. Maurice Fabián 'Mauri' Closs (born 10 June 1971) is an Argentine politician, formerly of the Radical Civic Union (UCR) but now leading the Front for the Renewal of Concord, allied to the Front for Victory in support of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. He is a National Senator representing Misiones Province, which he led as governor from 2007 to 2015.
