Front Line (political Party)
Front Line ( el, Πρώτη Γραμμή, ) is a Greek nationalist party, formed in 1999. The party is headed by Konstantinos Plevris, a self-confessed "Nazi, fascist, racist, anti-democrat, anti-Semite". Front Line participated in the 1999 European Parliament elections (sharing a slate with the nationalist Golden Dawn party), obtaining 48,532 votes or 0.75 percent of the vote. In the Greek general election of 2000, it took 12,125 votes, or 0.18 percent of the poll. Apart from Plevris, electoral candidates for the party have included: (in 1999) Panayiota Adonopoulou (Παναγιώτα Αντωνοπούλου), Nikolaos Michaloliakos (Νικόλαος Μιχαλολιάκος), and Michail Arvanitis-Avramis (Μιχαήλ Αρβανίτης-Αβράμης). The party was dissolved in 2000. Many of its former members have joined the Popular Orthodox Rally, and others participated in the foundation of Patriotic Alliance. Konstantinos Plevris
Konstantinos A. Plevris (; born 1939 in Athens), sometimes called in English Constantine Plevris or Kostas Plevris, is a Greek politician, lawyer, nationalist, and neo-fascist author. The prolific writer has, over the course of decades, written a number of books and other texts relating to Greek history, Greek culture, sociology, and politics, with a clear nationalist, homophobic (such as his book titled ''"Οι Κίναιδοι"'', a vehement polemic against homosexuals) content. In his book ''The Jews: The Whole Truth'', he described himself as a "Nazi, fascist, racist, anti-democrat, anti-Semite". He was the founder and leader of the Metaxist 4th of August Party and Front Line, with the former political party not only playing a significant role in influencing and shaping the future direction of the Greek extreme right but also being itself as a prominent political movement before the junta in general. Nikolaos Michaloliakos
Nikolaos G. Michaloliakos ( el, Νικόλαος Γ. Μιχαλολιάκος, ; born 11 December 1957) is a Greek politician and convicted criminal. He is the founder and leader of the far-right party Golden Dawn. In October 2020, he and 67 other Golden Dawn leaders were found guilty of leading a criminal organisation by the Athens Appeals Court. Early life and education Michaloliakos was born in Athens in 1957. According to his party, he completed his studies at the Faculty of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Antisemitism in Greece manifests itself in religious, political and media discourse. The 2009–2018 Greek government-debt crisis has facilitated the rise of far right groups in Greece, most notably the formerly obscure Golden Dawn. The Popular Greek Patriotic Union ( el, Λαϊκή Ελληνική Πατριωτική Ένωση, Laiki Elliniki Patriotiki Enosi), known more commonly by its acronym, LEPEN (Λ.Ε.Π.ΕΝ.), is a nationalist and far-right political party in Greece.
