"From Here to Eternity" is a song by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released as the second single from their album ''Fear of the Dark'', released in 1992. Synopsis The song is the fourth and most recent song in the ongoing saga of "Charlotte the Harlot" (other songs include "Charlotte the Harlot," "22 Acacia Avenue," "Hooks in You”). The song tells the tale of Charlotte going on a fateful motorcycle ride with the Devil. This is the first studio single to not feature Eddie in the artwork - second overall, after the live version of " Running Free" - using a picture of the song's music video instead, and it is one of two single from ''Fear of the Dark'' to not feature the mascot, the other being " Wasting Love". The cover of the 7" Etched Disc is the cover most people associate with the single, though the 12" was a very different picture from the clip. Budgie were a Welsh heavy metal band from Cardiff. The band formed in 1967, and recorded a demo the following year. In 1971, their first album was blues-oriented hard rock and produced by Rodger Bain, released by MCA. Later records found Budgie gradually moving into a harder and more aggressive sound. Michael Henry "Nicko" McBrain (born 5 June 1952) is an English musician, best known as the drummer of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden since 1982. He is the third-longest serving member of the band, having appeared on each Iron Maiden album since '' Piece of Mind'' (1983). McBrain retired from touring in 2024, although he remains a member of the band for studio projects. Having played in small pub bands since 1966 from the age of 14, after leaving school, McBrain did session work before joining a variety of artists, such as Streetwalkers in 1975, Pat Travers, and the French political band Trust. David Michael Murray (born 23 December 1956) is an English guitarist, best known as a member of the Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He joined Iron Maiden early in its history, and is the second-longest serving member of the band after founder Steve Harris (musician), Steve Harris. He and Harris are the only members of Iron Maiden to have appeared on every album.
