Frolands Verk
Frolands verk is a small village area in Froland municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located along the Norwegian County Road 42, almost west of the municipal centre of Blakstad/ Osedalen and about southeast of the village of Mjåvatn. The lake Trevann lies just south of the village. History Frolands verk was once a large ironworks in the 1700s which produced cannon balls among other things. The ironworks company included large land holdings of farmland and forests in the surrounding area. The items produced here were shipped down the river Nidelva to the lake Rore in Landvik and then transported to the sea at Grimstad. Osedalen
Blakstad or Blakstad-Osedalen is a village which is also the administrative centre of the municipality of Froland in Agder county, Norway. It is located along the river Nidelva, about northwest of the town of Arendal (where many residents of Blakstad work and shop). The small village of Froland lies about to the north, on the west side of the river, and that is where Froland Church is located. Originally, Blakstad was the village on the eastern shore of the river and the village of Osedalen was located on the western side of the river. Over the years, the two villages grew together and now form one large village. The village has a population (2019) of 3,241 and a population density of . The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' (, abbreviated ''SNL'') is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. It has several subdivisions, including the Norsk biografisk leksikon. Sawmill
A sawmill (saw mill, saw-mill) or lumber mill is a facility where logging, logs are cut into lumber. Modern sawmills use a motorized saw to cut logs lengthwise to make long pieces, and crosswise to length depending on standard or custom sizes (dimensional lumber). Grimstad () is a town in Grimstad municipality in Agder county, Norway. The town is also the administrative centre of the municipality. Landvik
Landvik is a former municipality in the old Aust-Agder county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1971. The municipality's area is now located in the western and central part of the present-day municipality of Grimstad. The administrative centre was the village of Roresanden, just up the hill from the Landvik Church. Other villages in Landvik include Molland, Reddal, Skiftenes, Tjore, and Østerhus. Rore (lake)
Rore is a lake in the municipalities of Grimstad and Arendal in Agder county, Norway. This lake, which is used as a reservoir, lies mostly in Grimstad. There is a public beach area at the southern end of the lake, near the village of Roresand. The lake is located in the Landvik area, about from the center of the Grimstad (town), town of Grimstad. Nidelva (Agder)
Nidelva is the main river in the Arendal drainage basin in Agder county, Norway. The long river begins at the confluence of two rivers: Nisserelva and Fyreselv. The confluence is located by the village of Haugsjåsund in Nissedal municipality in southern Telemark county. The river flows south into the Skagerrak at the city of Arendal. The watershed covers and has an average waterflow of at Rykene near the mouth. The highest waterflow ever recorded on the river was in the autumn of 1987.
