Frenzy
''Frenzy'' is a 1972 British thriller film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. It is the penultimate feature film of his extensive career. The screenplay by Anthony Shaffer was based on the 1966 novel '' Goodbye Piccadilly, Farewell Leicester Square'' by Arthur La Bern. The film stars Jon Finch, Alec McCowen and Barry Foster and features Billie Whitelaw, Anna Massey, Barbara Leigh-Hunt, Bernard Cribbins and Vivien Merchant. The original music score was composed by Ron Goodwin. The plot centres on a serial killer in contemporary London and the ex- RAF serviceman he implicates. In a very early scene there is dialogue that mentions two actual London serial murder cases: the Christie murders in the 1940s-1950s and the Jack the Ripper murders in 1888. Barry Foster has said that, in order to prepare for his role, he was asked by Hitchcock to study two books about Neville Heath, an English serial killer who would often pass himself off as an officer in the RAF. During a career that spanned more than half a century, Alfred Hitchcock directed over fifty films, and worked on a number of others which never made it beyond the pre-production stage. The game was released for the Acorn Electron and BBC Micro in 1984 and for the Commodore 64 in 1985. Description Although the gameplay is similar to ''Qix'', the backstory for Frenzy involves the player controlling a robot craft, attempting to capture deadly sub-atomic Leptons from inside a scientific research centre. ''Frenzy'' is a multidirectional shooter arcade video game published by Stern Electronics in 1982. It is a sequel to 1980's popular '' Berzerk''; both games were developed by Alan McNeil. ''Frenzy''s gameplay is fundamentally similar to ''Berzerk''—the player enters a series of maze-like rooms containing armed robots and must shoot them to survive—but adds more variety. Ports were released for ColecoVision and ZX Spectrum. Gameplay The player must navigate a maze full of hostile robots. The goal of the game is to survive as long as possible and score points by killing robots and travelling from room to room. The game has no end other than the player losing all of his or her lives. Jalacy J. "Screamin' Jay" Hawkins (July 18, 1929 – February 12, 2000) was an American singer-songwriter, musician, actor, film producer, and boxer. Famed chiefly for his powerful, operatic vocal delivery and wildly theatrical performances of songs such as " I Put a Spell on You", he sometimes used macabre props onstage, making him an early pioneer of shock rock. He received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male for his performance in the 1989 indie film '' Mystery Train''. ''Frenzy'' is the second album by Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper, released in 1986. The album was re-released on CD in 1987, with the EP '' Get Out Of My Way!'' added to the end. The CD uses the ''Get Out of My Way!'' mix of "Stuffin' Martha's Muffin," which filters the telephone conversation part of Nixon's opening monologue to sound like he is talking on the phone, instead of the original ''Frenzy'' LP mix. "Transylvanian Xmas" is a version of "Joy to the World," performed by Roper on harmonica with the melody tweaked to sound spooky; Nixon plays bongos. "Jesus at McDonalds" is a newer recording of the song from their first LP, '' Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper''. ''Frenzy'' is the fourth studio album by New Zealand new wave band Split Enz. ''Frenzy'' ventured even further beyond the band's art rock roots to more of a pop sound. The album is notable for being the first to feature Neil Finn on lead vocals – though the lyrics to "Give It a Whirl" and both music & lyrics to "Master Plan" were written by his brother Tim. Details The album was primarily recorded at The Manor Studios in England between November and December in 1978; however, the song "I See Red" had already been recorded at Startling Studios (also in England) in July 1978. ''The Transformers'' is an American animated television series that originally aired from September 17, 1984, to November 11, 1987, in syndication based upon Hasbro's ''Transformers'' toy line. The first television series in the ''Transformers'' franchise, it depicts a war among giant robots that can transform into vehicles and other objects. The series was produced by Marvel Productions and Sunbow Productions in association with Japanese studio Toei Animation for first-run syndication. Toei co-produced the show and was the main animation studio for the first two seasons.
