Alcindo Martha de Freitas (31 March 1945 – 27 August 2016), known simply as Alcindo, was a Brazilian association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Career During his club career he played for Sport Club Rio Grande, Rio Grande (1963), Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense, Grêmio (1964–1971), Santos Futebol Clube, Santos (1971–1973), Club Jalisco (1973) and Club América (1974–76) of Mexico, and Associação Atlética Francana, Francana (1978). Alcindo is Grêmio's all-time leading scorer with 636 career goals for the club. He was part of the Brazil national football team, Brazilian team for the 1966 FIFA World Cup. In total he earned 7 caps and scored 1 goal for Brazil. His brother Alfeu Martha de Freitas, Alfeu played for San Lorenzo de Almagro, in Argentina. Ángela Freitas
Ángela Freitas is an East Timorese politician, who is the leader of the Timorese Labor Party and ran in the 2017 East Timorese presidential election. Biography While a student, Ángela Freitas was tortured by the Indonesian Army during the Indonesian occupation of East Timor. In 1988, she worked for the Institute of Human Rights within Indonesia, moving on to work for Amnesty International in 1989 as secretary of human rights. In the 1990s she fled to Australia, where she studied at the University of Queensland. Graduating with qualifications in political science and medicine, she started work at a hospital in Brisbane. This included a secondment into the Royal Australian Navy, where she worked on board a patrol vessel which intercepted refugee boats. Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum was a 2,000-seat hockey rink in Storrs, Connecticut. It was the longtime home arena and recent practice facility for the University of Connecticut women's and men's college ice hockey teams. Freitas Ice Forum opened on November 7, 1998, replacing the outdoor UConn Ice Arena, which was in use since the 1960s. Its construction was a part of the UCONN 2000 commitment by the State of Connecticut to help rebuild, renew, and enhance the campuses of the University of Connecticut, paired with the hockey teams' elevation to Division I status. The arena was used for the 2000 MAAC Championship (won by UConn), the 2001 MAAC tournament, and the 2002 ECAC women's hockey tournament. It hosted the 2008 Hockey East Women's Tournament.
