Freestyle Skiing At The 2018 Winter Olympics – Women's Aerials
The Women's aerials event in freestyle skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics took place on 15 and 16 February 2018 at the Bogwang Phoenix Park, Pyeongchang, South Korea. Qualification The top 25 athletes in the Olympic quota allocation list qualified, with a maximum of four athletes per National Olympic Committee (NOC) allowed. All athletes qualifying must also have placed in the top 30 FIS World Cup event or FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships during the qualification period (July 1, 2016 to January 21, 2018) and also have a minimum of 80 FIS points to compete. Kiley McKinnon (born September 1, 1995) is an American freestyle skier. She came in first place in the aerials competition during the 2015 FIS World Cup Champion and also won a silver medal in aerials at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2015 in Kreischberg, Austria. In 2018, McKinnon represented Team USA in the PyeongChang Olympics and placed 10th in aerials. Ashley Caldwell (born September 14, 1993) is an American freestyle skier who has competed in aerials since 2008. Caldwell was named to the US team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in January 2010 after competing in the sport for only two seasons. The youngest in the event, she reached the finals of the Aerials. Caldwell won her first World Cup aerials event in the United States in Lake Placid, New York, in January 2011, becoming the youngest freestyle female ever to win. Caldwell then suffered back-to-back ACL tears, missing the 2012 and 2013 competitive seasons. Olha Yuryivna Polyuk (; born September 15, 1987, in Khmelnytskyi) is a Ukrainian freestyle skier, specializing in aerials. She competed at the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 Winter Olympics. Career Polyuk started her international career on February 11, 2006, when she debuted at the European Cup and finished 4th in Minsk. The next day, she achieved the podium at the European Cup in Minsk, finishing 2nd. She competed at two Junior World Championships (in 2006 and 2007), winning bronze medals at both of them.
