The Freedom Party of Victoria is a minor party registered in the Australian state of Victoria. Founded and registered in 2022, the party's stated vision is: “A state whereby personal freedom is central, government power is limited, the rule of law applies equally to everyone and individual potential is limited only by ones' imagination. This will be delivered by a secure leadership who are focused on serving and governing, not managing and controlling.” The party emerged from the protests to the response from the state government during the COVID-19 pandemic, and features many candidates that hold anti-vaccine, anti-lockdown and anti-mandate views. Aidan McLindon
Aidan Patrick McLindon (born 26 February 1980) is an Australian politician. He was first elected for the seat of Beaudesert to the Queensland State Parliament for the Liberal National Party at the 2009 state election. He resigned from that party to become an independent in May 2010, and in June 2010 he established The Queensland Party, which he merged with Katter's Australian Party in August 2011. He lost his seat to the LNP at the 2012 election. The 2022 Victorian state election was held on Saturday, 26 November 2022 to elect the 60th Parliament of Victoria.
