Fredensborg Municipality
Fredensborg Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden (Capital Region). The municipality covers an area of 112.13 km2 and has a total population of 42,186 (as of 1. January 2025). Its mayor, since 2010, is Thomas Lykke Pedersen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The municipality was created on 1 January 2007, in a merger of the former municipalities of Karlebo Kommune and Fredensborg-Humlebæk Kommune ,switching the political powers from the conservative party to the Social Democrats. Fredensborg Palace is the Danish Royal Family’s spring and autumn residence. Queen Ingrid of Denmark and Prince Consort Henrik died there. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions of Denmark, regions, which contain 98 municipalities (, ; , ). The Capital Region of Denmark, Capital Region has 29 municipalities, Region of Southern Denmark, Southern Denmark 22, Central Denmark Region, Central Denmark 19, Region Zealand, Zealand 17 and North Denmark Region, North Denmark 11. The government intends to merge R. Hovedstaden with R. Sjælland 1 January 2027 to form Region Østdanmark (Region of Eastern Denmark). Ingrid Of Sweden
Ingrid of Sweden (Ingrid Victoria Sofia Louisa Margareta; 28 March 1910 – 7 November 2000) was List of Danish consorts, Queen of Denmark from 20 April 1947 to 14 January 1972 as the wife of King Frederik IX. Ingrid was born into the House of Bernadotte as the only daughter of Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden (later King Gustaf VI Adolf) and his first wife, Princess Margaret of Connaught. In 1935, she married Frederik, then Crown Prince of Denmark. The couple had three daughters: Margrethe II, Margrethe, Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Benedikte, and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, Anne-Marie. In 1947, Frederik became king upon the death of his father, King Christian X, and Ingrid became queen consort. As queen, Ingrid reformed the traditions of Danish court life, abolished many old-fashioned customs at court and created a more relaxed atmosphere at official receptions. 2005 Danish Local Elections
Local elections were held in Denmark on 15 November 2005. 2522 municipal council members were elected in Denmark's 98 municipalities and 205 regional council members in the five regions. Most of these were newly formed municipalities, namely 66 municipalities, that would only begin working from Monday 1 January 2007, as would the newly formed regions, and one municipality, Ærø, which was also part of the reform, which was allowed by the government to commence work for the first time already Sunday 1 January 2006. Danish People's Party
The Danish People's Party (DPP; , DF) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Denmark. It was formed in 1995 by former members of the Progress Party (FrP). The party saw a period of significant growth after its founding and lent its support to the – Conservative People's Party coalition government that ruled from the general election of 2001 until the 2011 election defeat. While not part of the cabinet, DF cooperated closely with the governing coalition on most issues and received support for key political stances in return, to the point that the government was commonly referred to as the "VKO-government" (O being DF's election symbol). Fredensborg () is a railway town located in Fredensborg Municipality, North Zealand, some 30 kilometres north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is most known for Fredensborg Palace, one of the official residences of the Danish royal family. As of 1 January 2025, the town had a population of 8,968.
