Fred McKee
Frederick William McKee (born 31 August 1883) was an Irish association football goalkeeper who played for, among others, Belfast-based clubs Cliftonville, Celtic and Linfield, and the national team of Ireland. At club level, McKee celebrated five Irish League titles and five Irish Cups. In 1914, he was a member of the Ireland team that won the British Home Championship - the only edition at which (united) Ireland became the unshared winners of the Championship. Irish International Fred McKee made his debut for Ireland at the 1906 British Home Championship on 17 March, in a 0–1 defeat to Scotland at Dalymount Park. His teammates that day included Robert Milne and Jack Kirwan. In spite of holding Wales at a 4–4 draw in his second international (the last tournament match), Ireland ended last. In many team sports which involve scoring goals, the goalkeeper (sometimes termed goaltender, netminder, GK, goalie or keeper) is a designated player charged with directly preventing the opposing team from scoring by blocking or intercepting opposing shots on goal. County Antrim Shield
The County Antrim & District Football Association Senior Shield (more commonly known as the County Antrim Shield) is a football competition in Northern Ireland. The competition is open to senior teams who are members of the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association) (membership of which extends geographically beyond County Antrim itself), often plus intermediate teams who qualify via the Steel & Sons Cup, depending on the numbers required. For the 2010–11 and 2011-12 seasons, only the winners took part. The current Shield champions are Larne, who beat Linfield 1–0 in the 2021–22 final, winning the trophy for a second successive year. The Belfast Charity Cup was a football competition which ran from 1883 to 1941, and was based on a similar tournament in Scotland, the Glasgow Merchants Charity Cup. The competition was open to senior sides from Belfast and invited intermediate teams. The last tournament was played in 1940.
