Fred Jones (wide Receiver)
Fred Jones is a former professional American football player who played wide receiver for four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs under Coach Marty Schottenheimer. College Jones played his collegiate career under the leadership of National Collegiate Athletic Association coach Eddie Robinson at Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. While under the tutelage and stewardship of Coach Robinson, Jones excelled as a student at Grambling and as an athlete within Grambling's athletic program in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). He graduated with a degree in Education from Grambling State University's NCATE Accredited College of Education. Grambling State University won the Bayou Classic twice while Jones was playing for the university. Jones is also a graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School in Decatur, Georgia. Bayou Classic
The Bayou Classic is an annual college football classic rivalry game between the Grambling State University Tigers and the Southern University Jaguars, first held under that name in 1974 at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, although the series itself actually began in 1932. A trophy is awarded to the winning school. Background Since 1990 the game has been held the Saturday after Thanksgiving Day, at the Caesars Superdome. Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, organizers moved the 2005 event from the Superdome to Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, where many of New Orleans' evacuees were living. The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) was a professional accreditor focused on accrediting teacher education programs in U.S. colleges and universities.
