The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) is the engineering school of Hofstra University, a private university in Hempstead, New York. It was created in 2012 out of the previously existing Departments of Engineering and Computer Science. It is accredited by ABET. History An Engineering Science program first emerged in the early 1960s from a previous program offering the first two years of an engineering education to be completed at either Columbia University or Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering).
