Fred Carter
Fredrick James Carter (born February 14, 1945), nicknamed "Mad Dog" or "Doggy", is an American former professional basketball player and coach, who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for eight seasons (1969– 77) for the Baltimore Bullets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks. Career A 6' 3" guard from Mount St. Mary's University, Carter was selected by the Baltimore Bullets in the third round of the 1969 NBA draft. He was traded along with Kevin Loughery from the Baltimore Bullets to the Philadelphia 76ers for Archie Clark, a 1973 second-round selection (19th overall–Louie Nelson) and cash on October 17, 1971. Over the course of his NBA playing career, Carter scored 9,271 points; he was the leading scorer (20.0 PPG) on the 1973 Sixers team that lost an NBA record 73 of 82 regular-season games. Fred Carter (artist)
Fred Carter (June 22, 1938 – May 9, 2022) was an American comic book artist known for the work he did on Jack Chick's tracts which promote Protestant fundamentalism. Early life and education Carter was born in Danville, Illinois on June 22, 1938. Little is known about his early life or family. As a student in high school, he was encouraged by an art teacher to submit his work for an art competition run by the American Academy of Art in Chicago. After he won second place in the competition, Carter studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago on scholarship but had to drop out after a year due to economic circumstances. Carter converted to Christianity at age 18. Work Carter first discovered Chick tracts in the early 1970s when his friend showed him a tract he picked up in Chicago. Fred Carter (convict)
Frederick Carter (born c. 1835, date of death unknown) was a convict transported to Western Australia, later to become one of the colony's ex-convict school teachers. Early life and transportation Frederick Carter was born in about 1835. A gunsmith by trade, he had a lifelong interest in sports, especially horseracing, and he was an outstanding rider and trainer of horses. In 1865, Carter was found guilty of a felony by the Birmingham courts, and sentenced to ten years' penal servitude. The following year, he was transported to Western Australia on board the ''Corona'', arriving in December 1866. Career in Australia After receiving his ticket of leave, Carter was employed as a servant of another ex-convict, Theodore Richards. Richards was a school teacher at Katrine school, and Carter was sometimes asked to assist with teaching. Sir Frederick Bowker Terrington Carter, (February 12, 1819 – March 1, 1900) was a lawyer and Premier of Newfoundland from 1865 to 1870 and from 1874 to 1878.
