Frank Alexander (American Football)
Frank Alexander (born December 17, 1989) is a former American football defensive end. He played college football at the University of Oklahoma. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Professional career Carolina Panthers Alexander was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round, with the 103rd overall pick, of the 2012 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a backup defensive end. On May 5, 2014, Alexander was suspended 4 games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Shortly before that suspension was scheduled to end, he was suspended for 10 more games for another violation. In the second preseason game against the Miami Dolphins, Alexander suffered a torn Achilles tendon. He was waived/injured on August 25, 2015. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an " end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. When most teams adopted a five-man line, two different styles of end play developed: "crashing" ends, who rushed into the backfield to disrupt plays, and "stand-up" or "waiting" ends, who played the more traditional containment style. Some teams would use both styles of end play, depending on game situations. The 2012 NFL draft was the 77th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players for their rosters. The draft, which is officially called the "NFL Player Selection Meeting", was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City from April 26 to April 28, 2012. 2013 Carolina Panthers Season
The 2013 season was the Carolina Panthers' 19th in the National Football League and their third under head coach Ron Rivera. ''NFL.com'' ranked the Panthers' schedule as the strongest in the league, with opponents having a combined 2012 record of 138–116–2 and a winning percentage of .543. After starting the season 1–3, the Panthers went 11–1 the rest of the way, including a then-record eight-game winning streak, securing their first winning season and playoff appearance since 2008, the first winning season under Rivera and the fifth in franchise history. 2020 XFL Draft
The 2020 XFL Draft was the inaugural player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams of the 2020 reboot of the XFL. The draft was held on October 15–16, 2019, via conference call, with results released through the XFL's social media channels. Structure The XFL player allocation process was held in multiple phases, separated by position groups. The league used a "snake" format in each phase, in which the draft order reversed with each round. The draft order was shuffled for each phase as predetermined through lotteries. A draft pool of 1,000 eligible players was announced in 200-player installments the week before the draft. The 2015 Denver Broncos season was the franchise's 46th season in the National Football League (NFL) and the 56th overall.
