Gertrude Barrows Bennett (September 18, 1884February 2, 1948), known by the pseudonym Francis Stevens, was a pioneering author of fantasy and science fiction.''Partners in Wonder: Women and the Birth of Science Fiction, 1926-1965'' by Eric Leif Davin, Lexington Books, 2005, pages 409-10. Francis George Stevens
Francis George Stevens (born Tavistock, Devon, England 2 June 1891) was a British civil engineer who founded Scouting in Sri Lanka. In 1912, Stevens founded the first recorded Scout troop at Christ Church College, Matale. In 1914 he established the 1st Galle Mahinda Scout Group at Mahinda College, Galle. Following the appointment of Stevens as the colonial commissioner, the British Scout Association Ceylon Branch was recognized in 1914. Stevens was born in 1891, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Stevens of Liverpool. Stevens arrived in Ceylon in 1911 as an Engineer in the Public Works Department. He was transferred from Matale to Colombo in 1914 and then served in the Royal Navy during World War I. Stevens had no previous experience in Scouting, and there was very little literature on the subject, yet he realized the value of the program. Frankie Stevens (born Francis Donald McKechnie Stevenson), (born Wellington, 1950), MNZM, is a New Zealand entertainer and singer. He was a judge for all three seasons on the reality series '' New Zealand Idol''. He is the brother of singer Jon Stevens. He is of Scottish and of Maori descent. Early career He got his start singing in a band while at Heretaunga College. He began his career at the age of 16, when he moved to Sydney, Australia to join a group called "Peter Nelson and the Castaways". After several years of touring and recording with the group, he went solo. As a solo artist, his first record "My Elusive Dreams" in 1969 was a major hit in New Zealand.Frankie Stevens

Frances Simpson Stevens
Frances Simpson Stevens (1894 – July 18, 1976) was an American painter, who is best remembered as one of the few Americans to directly participate in the Futurist Movement. Stevens was also one of the artists who exhibited at the landmark show Armory Show in New York City. The show included her oil painting ''Roof tops of Madrid'' ($200). Early life Stevens was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother, Ellen Welles Stevens, could trace their ancestry back to 12th century England and passed down a lifetime "fascination with lineage." She was a descendant of Thomas Welles, the first Governor of the Colony of Connecticut. She graduated from Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and moved to New York City. In 1912 she attended a summer painting class taught by Robert Henri in Spain.
