France In The Eurovision Song Contest 1985
France was represented by Roger Bens, with the song "Femme dans ses rêves aussi", at the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 4 May in Gothenburg, Sweden. The song was chosen through a national final organised by broadcaster France 2, Antenne 2. Before Eurovision National final The national final was held on 31 March 1985, hosted by Patrice Laffont and Catherine Ceylac. Fourteen songs took part with the winner chosen by a panel of TV viewers who were telephoned and asked to vote on the songs. At Eurovision On the night of the final Bens performed 6th in the running order, following Spain and preceding Turkey. At the close of voting "Femme dans ses rêves aussi" had received 56 points, placing France 10th of the 19 entries. The French jury awarded its 12 points to Israel. Voting References

1985 Eurovision Song Contest
The Eurovision Song Contest 1985 was the 30th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley" by Herreys. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT), the contest was held at the Scandinavium on the 4th of May 1985 and was hosted by previous Swedish contestant Lill Lindfors. Nineteen countries took part in the contest, with the and deciding not to participate. The winner was with the song "La det swinge" by Bobbysocks!. Patrice Laffont (born 21 August 1939 in Marseille) is a French television presenter, actor and entertainer. Career During the 1960s Laffont had a passion for acting, where he became a star on stage and screen with his friends Michel Fugain and Michel Sardou. During the 1970s he joined Europe 1 where most of his programmes were produced by Armand Jammot. His television career includes hosting ''Des chiffres et des lettres'' (French original of the UK's ''Countdown (game show), Countdown'') which he did between 1972 and 1989. Laffont hosted the French version of ''Fort Boyard (game show), Fort Boyard'' until 1999 and ''Pyramid (game show), Pyramid'' between 1990 and 1997.
