Four By Four (album)
''Four by Four'' is the seventh studio album by the Swedish rock band Backyard Babies, released on 28 August 2015 by Gain Music Entertainment. It was the band's first studio album in seven years, following a five-year hiatus that ended in 2014. The album reached number 2 on the Swedish albums chart. Reception The album received generally favorable reviews, with both Punk Rock Theory and Ghost Cult magazine praising the band for picking up where they left of seven years before. Mixed reviews came from Sleaze Roxx, which criticized the album's focus on pop-punk as opposed to the band's heavier sound on previous albums, while Pure Rawk disdained the album's attempts at ballads and bluesy rock songs. However, MyGlobalMind praised the album's occasional experiments with new sounds and concluded that the band developed a more mature style during their recent hiatus. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In the late 1960s, bands such as Blue Cheer, the Jeff Beck Group, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, Golden Earring, Steppenwolf and Deep Purple also produced hard rock. The genre developed into a major form of popular music in the 1970s, with the Who, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple being joined by Queen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Kiss, and Van Halen. During the 1980s, some hard rock bands moved away from their hard rock roots and more towards pop rock.V. Bogdanov, C. Woodstra and S. T. Glam Punk
Glam punk is a term used retrospectively to describe a short-lived trend for bands which produced a form of proto-punk that incorporated elements of glam rock, initially in the early to mid-1970s. History Glam punk has been seen as a backlash to the hippie folk music sensibilities of the 1960s. Lucy O'Brien defines the New York Dolls style as combining "Rolling Stones raunch with heavy borrowings from the girl group era". The band was highly influential in New York City's club scene of the early 1970s, as well as with later generations of musicians,T. Givens, ''People of Paradox: a History of Mormon Culture'' (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2007), , p. 281. and their style was adopted by a number of New York bands, including Ruby and the Rednecks. The Dolls broke up in 1976, by which time the trend had already metamorphosed into punk and begun to move on to new wave. Influence The New York Dolls helped spark the beginning of punk rock, with Malcolm McLaren informally managing ...

Pop-punk
Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. It is defined for its emphasis on classic pop songcraft, as well as adolescent and anti- suburbia themes, and is distinguished from other punk-variant genres by drawing more heavily from 1960s bands such as the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Beach Boys. The genre has evolved throughout its history, absorbing elements from new wave, college rock, ska, rap, emo, and boy bands. It is sometimes considered interchangeable with power pop and skate punk. Pop punk emerged in the late 1970s with groups such as the Ramones, the Undertones, and the Buzzcocks. 1980s punk bands like Bad Religion, Descendents and the Misfits were influential to pop punk, and it expanded in the 1980s and early 1990s by a host of bands signed to Lookout! Records, including Screeching Weasel, the Queers, and the Mr. T Experience. In the mid–late 1990s, the genre saw a massive widespread popularity in ...
